The Technology
What Is R134a Aerosol Extraction?
PURE5 systems use R134a, a food-grade, non-flammable aerosol propellant, as the extraction solvent. Chilled to a liquid, it washes through botanical material at near-ambient temperature, selectively extracting cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids without the heat that degrades them.
Because R134a is non-flammable and runs at low pressure, it may substantially reduce or eliminate C1D1 facility requirements, hazardous solvent storage, and the need for a high-pressure CO2 plant, subject to local fire code and approval by the authority having jurisdiction. The solvent is recovered and recycled in a fully closed loop, batch after batch.

Carefully prepared botanical material is loaded into the sealed extraction vessel, a fully controlled environment.

Selective Extraction
Liquid R134a flows gently through the material, dissolving cannabinoids, terpenes and valuable botanical compounds.

Solution Transfer
The enriched solution travels through the closed-loop system into the separation vessel.

Separation
Controlled pressure lets the solvent separate, pure extract collects below as the refrigerant turns to vapor.

Condensed back into liquid, the recovered solvent is continuously recycled into the extraction system.
